Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
PrintBIM ("we", "us") is based in Ghana. This policy explains what personal data we collect through printbim.com, the PrintBIM software and our sales process, and how we use it.
Summary
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, country and what you bought. Payment is handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card details.
- Your account: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never see your password), the computers you use PrintBIM on (computer ID, computer name, when last seen), and when you last used a free export.
- Your licence: licences contain your email, the plan, the expiry date and the computer ID of the computer they are locked to.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you send, such as screenshots.
- On this website: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security, and Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Where you came from: if you arrive through a partner's link or a campaign link, your browser remembers that link's tags (for example a partner code or "instagram") for 90 days. We record those tags, the page, and the name of the site that linked to us when you arrive, download PrintBIM or open checkout, and pass them to Paddle with a purchase, so we know which partners and campaigns work and can pay our affiliates. This record contains no name, email or IP address.
- If you apply to be an affiliate: your name, email, the channel you post on, your audience size and your message.
What the software does
PrintBIM reads your Revit model on your computer to build the print model and saves files only where you choose. Your models and files are never sent to us.
To use your account, PrintBIM connects to printbim.com when you sign in and each time you open it while online. It sends only your sign-in details, a computer ID (a one-way code derived from Windows, not your name or files), your computer's name so you can recognise it in your account, and, after each free export, the fact that it was used. It keeps your sign-in encrypted for your Windows user, and a licence that works offline for 14 days.
How we use your data
- To deliver and manage your licence, and send receipts and renewal reminders.
- To answer support requests.
- To run our affiliate program: to review applications, and to count and pay commissions for sales our affiliates refer.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run PrintBIM: Supabase (account and licence database), Paddle for payments and tax, our email provider and our website host.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are deleted when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. You also have rights under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and, if you live in the EU or UK, under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
